Eynsham Hall Wedding Photographer

Jess and David's wedding at Eynsham Hall

Hi Gang, I’m James Fear, a Cheltenham-based wedding photographer. I hope you like the photographs of Jess and David’s wedding, held at one of the best wedding venues in Oxfordshire, Eynsham Hall.

If you haven’t been here before, welcome! I cover weddings all over the UK as well as internationally, for which I am so thankful for. Eynsham Hall is on the edge of the stunning Cotswolds, only a few miles from the centre of Oxford, so not that far from my studio! It’s definitely one of the top choices for Oxfordshire wedding venues, and when you see the pics you’ll understand why!

 About Eynsham Hall

Before I write my blogs I like to do a bit of research so it sounds like I know what I’m talking about when it comes to the venue, because honestly, it’s always the people in the party that fascinate me rather than where the parties at. Normally I find a tonne of facts that make each place seem even more extraordinary than the last, but for Eynsham Hall, I have to admit they're really are no amount of facts or descriptions that really live up to its grandeur and impact. Once you see it, you don’t need any stories or bravado to help pump it up, it is simply incredible enough without them.

A wedding full of people far brighter than I

Much like Jess and David’s wedding – full of far cleverer people than I, with many guests from Oxbridge and Jess and David both being doctors. No pumping up needed here; you know these people are the real deal. Eynsham Hall with Jess and David is a match made in wedding venue heaven, and from my end, fascinating to shoot.

Eynsham has its “Stately Not Stuffy” ethos down to a fine art - stunning and elegant without being pretentious. As soon as you enter through the gates and head up the grand driveway towards the Hall, you get serious Downton Abbey vibes. It dates back to the 1700s but was demolished and rebuilt in 1908. Although built as a stately home, it’s also been a maternity ward in WWII and then a police academy for over 30 years. After many refurbishments, Eynsham is now a jaw-droppingly beautiful hotel, its rooms exhibiting its history but with a few quirky modern touches, and its gardens perfectly groomed – not one hedge out of place!

Using the space at Eynsham Hall

Three of the rooms are licenced for wedding ceremonies – the terrace (amazing on a summer’s day!), the Red Room and the Library. Jess and David got married in the Red Room, had their drinks reception in the Library (ever seen a bar in a library? Yeh, neither had I!) and wedding breakfast in the Green Room. Each room is as impressive as the other, with oak carvings, ornate plaster ceilings and large Cotswold Stone windows, but each of them has its own character.

The whole day was unbelievably relaxed and the light was beautiful. Not much more I can ask for there, Gang! Eynsham Hall will always give you a fantastic backdrop for piccies but as I always say, the magic is in the people. Loved this day, loved these people, and love these pics.

Thanks so much, Jess and David for letting me be a part of it.

James
