Abbie & Mick's Stone Barn Wedding...
Hi team, me again! James Fear Cheltenham-based wedding photographer. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you like what you see and feel inspired by Abbie and Mick's wedding photos.
Although I'm blessed to have photographed at weddings all over the UK and globally, nothing beats a Cotswold wedding. I feel so lucky to be based in the heart of the Cotswolds where the most beautiful wedding venues in the UK are. Stone Barn is undoubtedly one of them.
I have shot hundreds of weddings at Cripps Barn - its "sister barn" Stone Barn, however, I have done fewer; maybe ten.
Also, up until Abbie and Mick's, the weddings I have shot at Stone Barnt have on the whole been pretty quiet family affairs. Abbie and Mick's was different. I'd even go as far as to say the wedding was quite an upbeat affair... Nah, it was mental!
Bridal Prep at the Guggle...
Before heading to the ceremony, Abbie and Mick kept with the Cotswold theme using The Guggle for bridal prep. Now, gang, there are some great little combinations in life; ham and eggs, gin and tonic, the Guggle and Stone Barn. The Guggle is a lovely cottage In Northleach. It's like the perfect chocolate box Cotswolds cottage. I couldn't think of a better location to start such a great day, and when everyone was ready, it was off to Cripps Stone Barn in Aldsworth.
A little about weddings at Stone Barn...
The location of Stone barn is glorious. Somewhere between Northleach and Burford, it perches on a peaceful hill that looks out over scenery taken straight from a postcard. Originally a farm building (how authentic!) it's been transformed into an elegant wedding venue by Cripps & Co. This family-run business has around 30 years' experience in creating beautiful weddings.
The rustic, homely touches of the barn - such as the open fireplace, stone floors underfoot, and wooden beams overhead - along with a candle-lit ceremony, make the wedding feel intimate and relaxed. The adjoining Dutch Barns open up a world of opportunity to feast and be merry. Think huge open fireplace, open kitchen with in-house chefs, and a massive indoor BBQ. Guests feel like they can just let loose and enjoy themselves here, and in the case of Abbie and Mick's wedding, they certainly did! Other nice touches include a large open terrace complete with firepits.
As the barn is split-storey, post-ceremony drinks are at the top, with the wedding feast below. This is a brilliant layout for keeping everyone social and involved, and best of all, to capture the fun and memorable moments in piccies!
It was a legendary day. One I loved photographing. The best bit was when Mick nearly burnt his hand off lighting 20 packets of sparklers!
I could put so many more photographs up from Abbie and Mick's wedding - capturing the fun, naughtiness and sheer brilliance of proceedings, but Google doesn't like slow-loading pages so below is your lot!
As always thank you for taking the time to view my work, it does mean the world to me.
James
