Hannah and Jack's Winter Wedding at Elmore Court
Hi Gang, welcome to my little blog on Hannah and Jack’s wedding at Elmore Court – one of the best wedding venues in the Cotswolds and one of my favourite days in the office.
About Me
For those that don't know me, I’m James Fear, a wedding photographer based in the heart of the Cotswolds. I am blessed to have done weddings all over the country and the world. Hannah and Jack asked me to photograph their gorgeous winter wedding at Elmore Court, located in a beautiful rural village between the Cotswolds and Bristol - not far from me at all! It was a day that gave us a brief respite from the awful winter light and instead gave me possibly the best light I’ve ever had to shoot a wedding!
Photographing Weddings at Elmore Court
Elmore Court has got a mega history. The house is a 450-year-old Grade II listed home and was built not for military or religious purposes, but as a family home for a long line of Guise’s who loved to entertain. Its current owners, Anselm and Sarah Guise, have strong experience in the music and events industries and have turned their hand to Elmore to make it possibly one of the best wedding venues for a party, whilst keeping with the traditional and historical vibe of the house. A house built for parties? Hell yes.
Elmore Court has 16 bedrooms, all with their own unique character, and a choice of equally jaw-dropping rooms to hold the ceremony in. H & J got married in The Hall, and as the venue is for exclusive use, they basically had the whole house as their playground! I've heard they've got a fab in-house wedding planner too, so you can pretty much leave it to Elmore to sort your day out if you like, or get involved and make it exactly what you want.
The party happens in the Gillyflower – Elmore’s answer to a country-friendly marquee, where absolutely zero compromises was made on sound quality and lighting. It honestly blows your socks off. It’s built from the earth and timber from the Estate itself (the whole ethos of Elmore is to be environmentally sustainable) but with zero mud-hut vibes... Ultra-modern and chic vibes only here gang! It's completely soundproof, allowing guests to dance the night away with no neighbour complaints or sound limiters. The one-of-a-kind dining and dancing space has big seated windows that look out over the Cotswold landscape and also has a fire pit right outside. Everyone loves a firepit!
Elmore Court is honestly one of the best, as well as being guilt-free (for the nature lovers!) with the assurance that it's completely self-sustainable and eco-friendly. Every wedding there is such a blast, and Hannah and Jacks was certainly no exception. Thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of it!
Thanks for dropping by team, I hope you enjoy the piccies!
James
